BANGALORE INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY is located in the heart of Bangalore, the "Electronic City" and "Silicon Valley" of India. The institution came into being in August, 1979 under the auspices of Vokkaligara Sangha, Bangalore. The institute initially offered the Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) Degree in CIVIL, MECHANICAL, ELECTRICAL & ELECTRONICS AND ELECTRONICS & COMMUNICATION.

 

The Department of Electronics and Communication came into existence along with the establishment of the institution in the year 1979.The department is presently headed by Dr.C.S. Sridhar Ph.D, who is supported by a team of well qualified and dedicated staff members.

The Department of Electronics & communication is a prestigious one and one of the most sought after branch. It has always strived to deliver quality education keeping with the various emerging trends. The College has proved its credibility and also the quality education imparted by it, by being ranked 20th (according to Outlook Magazine 2007) all over India.


The Department has at its disposal well equipped labs to provide hands on experience and to realize the practical aspect of theory learned.
The Department has to its credit brilliant and dedicated engineers who have set benchmarks and proved themselves to be capable leaders in the ever evolving industry.
